DeWitt is Founder, President and CEO of Weaver Capital Management. He has been providing wealth counsel to high net worth families and professional athletes since 1992. His innovative investment philosophy and financial planning expertise serve as the foundation for Weaver Capital’s client service.
He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) practitioner, a member of the Financial Planning Association® (FPA®) and holds a Series 65 License. DeWitt is a Qualified Kingdom Advisor, which classifies him as a specialist in applying Biblical Wisdom to financial advice. He heads Weaver Capital’s Investment Committee and is the Lead Portfolio Manager for the firm.
DeWitt provides independent client-focused counsel and is committed to promoting stewardship and risk managed investing. He founded and was the Lead Portfolio Manager of Fisherman Fund LP, a Fund of Hedge Funds, solidifying his proficiency in alternative investments. His experience in alternative strategies and risk management serve as the groundwork for the firm’s investment management offering. DeWitt’s deep knowledge of income and estate tax planning is a byproduct of his 20 years of financial planning experience.
He attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas on a golf scholarship and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance. Prior to building the firm, he pursued a career on the PGA Golf Tour for seven years. He won several events at various tour levels, including the 1988 Georgia State Open. His father, DeWitt T. Weaver Jr. is a PGA Hall-of-Fame golfer.
Outside of the office, DeWitt is a member of the Atlanta Athletic Club, Laurel Springs Golf Club, and in 2019 was invited to join the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of Saint Andrews. DeWitt enjoys competing in various state and national amateur events. He is an active Deacon at Johns Creek Baptist Church where he has led the church’s stewardship effort by launching small groups for Crown Financial Ministries and heading several men’s bible studies. He makes his home in Suwanee, GA with his wife Michele and their four children Forde, Mary Evans, Jack and Landry.
